ABOUT CHS TRACK AND FIELD

Claremont High School's Track and Field is a positive community surrounded by great people who are passionate about Track and Field, and student athletes who are committed to the program and strive to exceed their goals.

Claremont Track and Field is an amazing and inclusive program. Our team is for people with varied levels of experience and ability. The many coaches on our team help make the experience right for each individual by connecting with everyone. 

WHAT DO WE FOCUS ON?

ENDURANCE

A lot of our team's endurance training comes at the beginning of the season or before the season officially starts. Endurance is built through conditioning and long workouts. Having stamina is a key part of any track and field event and is something we prioritize a lot during practices.

FORM

Form affects your ability to perform well during your event, which is why our coaches try to help each individual improve their form to make them the best athlete they can be. Form work can look a lot different for each event, but is something that is not overlooked with anybody.

FLEXIBILITY

Flexibility is important to make you run faster, jump higher or throw further. However, flexibility is also key to make sure you stay injury free. We improve flexibility by stretching at the beginning and end of practice along with doing leg swings and hip mobility.
